About Dr. Sattenspiel

Dr. Sigmund Sattenspiel Sigmund L. Sattenspiel, M.D., F.A.C.S., an internationally distinguished facial plastic and cosmetic surgeon, is dual Board Certified by The American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and by The American Board of Otolaryngology.

Dr. Sattenspiel excelled at The University of Maryland School of Medicine. He received his specialty training as a resident at the Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City where he currently maintains a position on the clinical teaching faculty. He also has an academic appointment as clinical assistant professor at UMDNJ Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.

Desiring to reside in beautiful Monmouth County, New Jersey, Dr. Sattenspiel established his practice in Freehold in 1972. His experience and reputation have contributed to the development of a very successful practice. In addition to New Jersey residents, his patients come from the greater New York Metropolitan area as well as from across the United States. His international notoriety also brings patients from abroad.

In New York City, Dr. Sattenspiel recently served a two year term as President of the New York Facial Plastic Surgery Society. Nationally, Dr. Sattenspiel is active as a Fellow of the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, Fellow of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery (where he was honored with a distinguished service award), Fellow of The American College of Surgeons, Fellow of the American Head and Neck Surgery Society. For several years, he served as an Examiner for the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.

office In New Jersey, Dr. Sattenspiel was Chairman of the Department of Surgery at CentraState Medical Center for 13 years. He was also Chairman of the Facial Plastic Surgery Division of the NJAOO conducting their Annual Scientific Symposia for 12 years. He also served as Vice President and President-Elect of the NJAOO.

As an active participant in the “Face to Face” project, Dr. Sattenspiel may offer pro-bono services to benefit victims of domestic violence. In his practice, Dr. Sattenspiel dedicates himself to providing the highest level of medical care to his patients.

Dr. Sattenspiel’s work is his passion. Performing creative procedures is his vocation and avocation. In off hours, Dr. Sattenspiel is also a pianist, participates and appreciates the performing and fine arts, and he has studied sculpture. And when time permits, he enjoys the challenge of golf.
